Morris & Co
For this fabric the Morris & Co. studio were inspired by the beautiful ‘suzani’ embroidery that hangs amongst the Morris & Co. furnishings in the drawing room of Standen House in Sussex. A part of the Morris Archive IV collection, medallion patterns similar to this large, chain stitch version can be found in the ceremonial textiles that were popular with discerning 19th century collectors.
